SD Eibar is a Spanish football club from the Basque Country, formed in 1940. The "Armeros" (Gunners), is a fan-owned club, with shareholders from all over the world (69 countries). In 2014, the team reached La Liga, the top division football league in Spain, for the first time. With no cups and no records, the club can barely hold its head above the water. However, its fans are doing their best to keep the spirit high. The team plays in a relatively small stadium - Estadio Municipal de Ipurua, which is now being renovated to host more than 7000 seats and a small museum about the club history.
